Songs from below: Chris Hicks, Daniel Versus the World, Dan Poulton and Stew Simpson

singersAugust 26th, The Fiddlers Elbow, Camden, £4 entry

Do join us for a night with some rather talented songcrafters and brilliant acoustic musicians. We’ve got a great line up of people, none of whom sound like bog-standard acoustic musicians. As always, radical politics included.

Really really pleased that Daniel Versus the World will be making his first appearance at Songs from Below. He sounds like no-one else, and he does it fucking well. Do listen to him here www.danielversustheworld.bandcamp.com

Christopher Hicks will also be returning to Songs from Below. He’s an an acoustic singer/songwriter who draws in the audience in a way that few artists manage. You will be a bit stunned by the voice and the songcraft. Check him out here.

Also very pleased that Stew Simpson will be coming back after playing various festivals over the summer. The only person in the history of Songs from Below to get us all dancing. A great songwriter, playing mixture of traditional North East folk, confessional songcraft and new work.

And finally Dan Poulton. A fantastic poet, and songwriter, very much his own artist and person. You will indeed enjoy his songcraft and spoken word.
