No to private companies running Out of Hours & 111 services in NC London

Protest and deputation NHS England are pushing for OOH and 111 services to be combined across regions in huge multimillion pound contracts that it will favour multinationals and make it hard for local GPs to win the contracts. Campaigns in Camden, Islington, Haringey, Barnet and Enfield have been meeting to coordinate a campaign […]

NHS Action Party North London Meeting

We have now arranged out next North London Group meeting. For Monday 8th December, 7 – 9 pm, at the Duke of Wellington Pub (Ground floor back room – all access) 119 Balls Pond Rd, Hackney (30 bus – 5 mins – from Highbury and Islington) Directions on Google and NHA website.

Following NHA Party AGM in September, candidates were selected to stand in the forthcoming 2015 General Election. Details on NHA website. Kathryn Anderson was selected to stand in Chingford seat, currently held by Iain Duncan Smith (IDS) conservative. NHA’s main forcus is now on supporting and canvassing to get our candidates – like Kathryn elected, raiser her profile in the constituency and generally publicise NHA policies.

We have therefore decided to join forces with the Waltham Forest (NHA WF) Group to pool resources. We need to prioritise the forthcoming General Election campaign.

Our meeting on Monday 8th December will therefore be our first joint general election planning campaign for Kathryn Anderson prospective NHA candidate for Chingford. There will be no planned agenda but any items can be brought forward at the meeting under AOB.

Note our new NHA.nlondon group@gmail.com – e-mail and a phone number is being organised. There will also be a separate e-mail for Kathryn’s election campaign.

Look forward to seeing you all there, and, please let me know if you cannot attend so we can keep you updated. I am sorry for such short notice but our campaign now needs to be coordinated for the New Year 2015.

The People vs PFI

You’d never be able to tell from the outside, but hundreds of our hospitals, schools, prisons roads and even homes are no longer controlled by us, the people. Why? Because politicians have given away our public buildings to private companies – only to have us rent them back at extortionate cost. Our money is making these tax-avoiding corporations rich, while we end up losing frontline services. This is what they mean by the Private Finance Initiative (PFI).
