Revolutionary Women’s Film Night

October 9, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

In support of Afem 2014 (details here : http://afem2014.wordpress.com/) and Food Not Bombs – London, SASS is hosting a night of films about revolutionary women and feminist movements!

Food Not Bombs will be catering for the volunteers at the Afem conference, and are asking people to bring a small amount of non-perishable food along to donate. A wish list of things they need, as well as a program of films, will be posted shortly.

People of all genders and people of no gender welcome! Bring food, bring friends!

–FILM LIST–
(in order of screening)

  • Rote Zora (28 mins)
  • El Salvador: Life at any price [Vida a cualquier precio] (24min)
  • Sylvia Rivera Trans Movement Founder (25min)
  • A Conversation with Angela Davis 1971 (56min)
  • We Are Equal – Zapatista Women Speak (17min)
  • Umoja – the Village where men are Forbidden (51min)
  • Eyes of the Rainbow – a documentary film with Assata Shakur (1h)

Important note on the location and accessibility for the event:

The LLT (which the University insists on calling the DLT after some rich donor) is on the ground floor next to the reception. Just come in through the main lobby and the LLT is on your left through the double doors.

Step free access is available at the main entrance and the room itself is equipped with a wheel chair lift for anyone with reduced mobility.

While accessing the LLT shouldn’t be an issue, if you’re not signed in with the security before 8:30, you probably won’t be able to get to the bar/bathrooms in the main building. If this happens, then facilities are available just around the corner in the IOE.
Hope to see plenty of you there!
