Participatory Economics – A model for a new economy

FacebookTwitterGoogle+Share

While many people around the world are growing ever more dissatisfied with an economic system based on competition and greed, and who also do not believe that authoritarian planning is the answer, the question of what to put in place of these systems have left many without an answer. Participatory economics is as an attempt to formulate a serious answer to the question of economic vision with the hope that it will inform experiments and movements of people who are seeking to win a better world.

Book launch: ‘Alternatives to Capitalism: Proposals for a Democratic Economy’

Poverty, inequality, social injustice, environmental destruction… It’s easy to criticise capitalism. But what kind of society might we want instead? In Alternatives to Capitalism: Proposals for a Democratic Economy, Robin Hahnel and Erik Olin Wright debate different visions of a world beyond capitalism. Join an evening of discussion with Robin and Erik to explore these difficult and crucial questions.

This event is being jointly hosted by the New Left Project, Participatory Economics UK and the Open Economics Forum at SOAS.

Please note that the event is being held in Room VG06 of the Vernon Square Campus near to Kings Cross (not the main SOAS campus in Russell Square).
